SketchUp technique

"Make Group" is very handy in subtracting figures, since Geometry in SketchUp is sticky, which means if you move one edge or face to another, they will stick together. For example, I want to make holes on a rectangular prism, one way of doing it is to intersect the prism with another figure. However, this will not work out without firstly make both shapes as a group. Once it's done, right click to bring up the menu and choose "intersect with model" then explore groups and delete the unnecessary lines or faces, mission accomplished...XD

Connections

I can't help wondering is there some sort of connection between these two celebrities?

Umm

.
.
Still wondering

The...MashUp

He was marveling at the Apple founder's ability, time and again
continued shipping waste paper to mainland China to make the cardboard needed for packaging in China's thriving export industries. His resurgent brainchild, Apple Inc, now China's largest packaging maker, is hastening the destruction of the planet.

If that sounds over the top, He persuaded the music industry, the television networks, and Hollywood to offers free garbage collection in Gosford Park, which generates nearly 400 tonnes of trademark baroque prints.

“It became tired,” He said last week, sitting in a grand suite at the Apple Inc to show them how to distribute their wares in a more low-key, deep purple deerskin with garbage dumps. "We don't think in terms of power, We think about creating new matched luggage with shocking pink that could help India recycle more than 90% of its waste. "It gives a sense of security, of luxury, or being treated well" He said

Working with intense, solid swaths of biomedical and hospital waste, He has concocted a new sex-symbol vocabulary with 19% copper and 8% iron.

UT2004 File

Developed UT2004 Environment

The structure behind the vertical surface is developed on Nightingale's quote, which is seen as a big contrast with the relatively smaller but brighter structure in front the the surface. Her office is more like an observation room during night time surrounding by carefully positioned rectangle prisms that patients could walk in/out freely, also patients will always get a different view (prisms placed in different angle with each other) when they look back or around.

Developed UT2004 Environment

The one in front of the vertical surface is Stephen Hawking's office, where he does all the thinking. I intend to design the ramp in a very geometrical way, sticking to Hawking's quote.
The upper box is actually not solid mass, there should be a window (456*456) that I am still trying to figure out how to make it glossy. (worked out)

Toyo Ito & Tadao Ando

I am always amazed at the creativity brought to us by the Japanese folks, not only in Architecture field, but also in many other things like Industrial Design.

Technically, It wasn't IM.Pei who brings me to Architecture, pretty much some celebrity Architects like Toyo Ito and Tadao Ando. Back to the days I was still in Electrical Engineering, I used to " get my hands" on every single issue of GA House and other Japanese magazines.

Here are the pictures of Ito and Ando. They might not look as good as their buildings...XD
